WSL 2 Transfer Round-up

A companion round-up covering the Barclays WSL 2’s own busy transfer window, headlined by two-time World Cup winner Morgan Gautrat (née Brian) joining Newcastle United on loan from Orlando Pride, and WSL legend Jordan Nobbs returning to the North East from Aston Villa. Ji So-yun’s loan move to Birmingham City from Seattle Reign is also featured, alongside dozens of moves across the second tier, including Sophie Ingle to Bristol City and Vicky Losada making the same switch from Brighton. The piece reflects a division whose transfer activity has grown markedly in ambition, following London City Lionesses’ Champions League-calibre signings the previous season on the way to their WSL promotion, with clubs like Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United especially active in the market.
