WSL 2 (Taylor’s Version) – Season Preview

A club-by-club preview of all twelve WSL 2 sides, each filed under a Taylor Swift lyric. Birmingham City, beaten to promotion on the final day, make Shannon Cooke’s loan permanent and keep World Cup-winning goalkeeper Adrianna Franch. Bristol City mark ten years since the Bristol Academy rebrand by bringing Sophie Ingle back, though captain Jamie-Lee Napier and Ffion Morgan have left, with Charlotte Healy now in charge. Crystal Palace add Allyson Swaby, Elise Hughes and Ashleigh Weerden while looking to youth in Abbie Larkin, My Cato and 17-year-old Chelsea loanee Lola Brown. Durham, the division’s only independent club and last season’s overachievers, sign Tyler Toland and welcome EuroMillions winners Patrick and Frances Connolly as 25% shareholders. Ipswich Town, promoted with 89 goals scored and ten conceded, move home games to Colchester United, and Newcastle strengthen with Jordan Nobbs and Aoife Mannion.
