Who’s on the Plane?
She Kicks, issue 90, July 2025 pp.20–21
Coverage of the 5 June squad announcement, the headline details being Lauren James’s inclusion while still recovering from injury and Michelle Agyemang’s selection ahead of the far more experienced Nikita Parris. She Kicks traces Agyemang’s ascent: dual-registered at Watford in 2023/24, five goals during last term’s Brighton loan, then a debut goal 41 seconds after coming on in April’s 3-2 Nations League defeat in Belgium, a touch and volley from a Leah Williamson long pass. The full 23 is listed alongside the standby four of Sophie Baggaley, Lucy Parker, Laura Blindkilde Brown and Missy Bo Kearns. A “From the Media” panel gathers reads from Tom Garry of The Guardian and Charlotte Harpur of The Athletic, both flagging England’s vulnerability to pace on the counter and a hard group containing France and the Netherlands.
