We Kick with Carlisle United Ladies FC

Carlisle Ladies became Carlisle United Ladies ahead of the 2011/12 season through a link-up with Cumbria’s only professional sports club, under manager Tracy Gannon. The tie-up brought new opportunities including a dedicated goalkeeping coach in Jordan Carrigan, and the club lifted its first silverware, the Cumberland FA Women’s County Cup, at the end of last season. The Lady Cumbrians play in Division One North of the North West Women’s Regional League, hosting most home games at Creighton Rugby Club and rounding off last season with a debut at Brunton Park. Their end-of-season evening is funded by a player-imposed swear jar, fining ten pence for swearing, lateness or mislaid kit, with healthy coffers already.
