We Kick — P.I.L.C.S (Pontypool)
She Kicks, issue SK12, February 2013 p.47
Manager Wayne Jeremiah introduces P.I.L.C.S, formed in July 2011 as the senior team of Mardy Tigers Girls Football Club and renamed after moving to the P.I.L.C.S ground in Pontypool. Playing in green and white as the Green Army, they won the South Wales Women’s League Division Two in their first season with a hundred per cent record and remain unbeaten, with a Welsh Cup semi-final against Cardiff City Ladies to come. Jeremiah, who started Mardy Tigers ten years earlier, was named 2012 Welsh Community Coach of the Year and let his son Richie, the team’s coach, collect the award from Craig Bellamy. The unsung hero is ‘Our Nan’, an 80-year-old who brings sweets to every game.
