We Kick: Kempton Girls FC U15s

A We Kick profile of Kempton Girls FC under-15s, based in Sunbury, Middlesex, and playing in the Surrey County Girls League. They train on Tuesday evenings and sometimes Thursdays, with matches on Sundays. The season was a mixed bag: eighth in the league, a Middlesex County Cup semi-final lost to Denham under-16s in extra time, and the Surrey County Girls League Cup won 1-0 against Beecholme Belles, inflicting their opponents’ first defeat of the season. The under-15s and under-14s were started in 2011 and the club now has seven registered teams, its playing kits carrying Shooting Stars Chase Children’s Hospice on the front instead of a company sponsor. Captain Jess leads by example, having played with the team since she was eleven, and welfare officer Kelly Wakelin is named the number one fan.
