Walsall Back To Winning Ways (Lyndsey Glover interview)

Walsall’s Lyndsey Glover describes the Saddlers bouncing straight back to the West Midlands Premier as Division 1 North champions, dropping only two points. This season seems ten times better, she says: new managerial and coaching staff have helped the squad grow into a little family who watch each other’s backs through thick and thin, and she believes relegation spurred them on, noting she could not tell on joining that the team had been relegated. The side give a hundred per cent in every game and Lewis Jones’s tactics have helped keep numerous clean sheets, with beating Burton Albion her biggest highlight for the determination it showed. A difficult game against third-placed Wyrley was won 1-0, and losing the League Cup semi-final to Burton was heartbreaking.
