Walking Football partnership (SWF / WFS)

Her Goal, issue 1, November 2025 p.88

Steve English reports on a new collaboration between Scottish Women’s Football and Walking Football Scotland, aimed at encouraging more women to stay active and involved in football into later life. Walking Football Scotland has ringfenced 5,000 pounds to launch a funding opportunity offering grants of up to 500 pounds to help new women’s Walking Football groups get started, with application details to follow. SWF chair Vivienne MacLaren has joined the charity’s board of trustees, and WFS trustee Matt Ramsay says the partnership is intended to grow and support the women’s game in Scotland. The launch at Hampden brought together Ramsay and MacLaren with SWF chief executive Aileen Campbell, WFS patron Rose Reilly MBE, trustee Linsey Paton-Donaldson, and players from Giffnock SC and Rangers FFIT.
