Manchester United’s new Norwegian midfielder had watched the club from home long before she signed for it, and calls the move a dream come true. She played eight years in Norway, tore a cruciate ligament, spent a deliberate maximum of two years in Sweden as a step up, and judged this the moment for another. Marc Skinner wants her as a playmaker who dictates the game but gets higher up the pitch. What gets the best from her, she says, is simply confidence and permission to make mistakes. Her father played for Brann, her partner plays in Prague and she does not expect to see him before December, and she is quietly hoping nobody makes her sing an initiation song.
