Viggy’s Keeping Calm (Hedvig Lindahl interview)
She Kicks, issue 35, May 2016 pp.18–20
Chelsea’s Sweden goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl insists a Wembley cup final is just another game, the product of a long career spanning four World Cups, three Olympics and three European Championships. She describes her career as a journey in controlling emotions: staying calm herself so she can keep the players around her calm. She watched the men’s FA Cup final on television with her father in Sweden as a girl, which is why the women’s final at Wembley feels special. Her wife Sabine and two-year-old son Timothy will be in Germany for a family birthday. Having come back from a cruciate injury and double hip surgery, and named Sweden’s Diamantbollen for 2015, she is heading to Rio.
