View From The Stands: Sheffield FC

A Sheffield supporter and a seven-year-old fan give their view. Steve Cox started following the club when his daughter signed and stayed for the history – the world’s first football club – and for how it treats its supporters; Evie Rose Exton asked her father whether only men played football and he began taking her to the women’s games. Her favourite memory is being mascot and appearing in the newspaper. His is the club’s first ever WSL match, and Sherry McCue’s winner against her old club at Aston Villa, applauded even by Villa supporters. Hannah Cain, the club’s first WSL scorer and youngest player, and Carla Ward, whom he expects to become one of the game’s best coaches, are their favourites. Both look ahead to the Doncaster derby.
