View From The Stands: Everton

Lynsey Alexander followed the men’s side first and says the women’s team was the obvious choice when she started six years ago. Her match of 2016 is Durham away, for Lauren Davies’ second-half strike, which she calls a belter, and because it was the first game she took her uncle to. Gabby George is both her player of the year and her favourite player, solid and dependable at the back and, in her view, a future England defender. She is looking forward to Doncaster as the hardest test of the season. Her advice is to arrive early with children for the pre-match activities and the mascot, and to mix with home and away supporters. She preferred the summer league and worries about clashes with the men’s fixtures.
