View From The Stands: Doncaster Rovers Belles

Sarah Maye’s connection to the Belles began ten years ago when her daughter joined the junior section, and she describes a Belles Family that supported her while she was battling cancer. She does not miss a game. Her match of 2016 is the win at Reading, where the noisy fans sang ‘We are Donny Belles’ through the whole of three added minutes. Her player of the year is goalkeeper Nic Hobbs, who she thinks gets too little recognition given how the season went, and she refuses to name a favourite player at all, likening it to picking a favourite child. She is looking forward to the closing fixture at Oxford, notes there is room to hide from the noise at the Keepmoat, and welcomes the winter calendar.
