Helen Ward announces she is expecting her second child in September and will miss the Spring Series, having only just signed for Yeovil Town, where she knew a great many team-mates from Wales duty and where Jamie Sherwood agreed a cut-down training schedule because a three-hour commute each way was not realistic. She turns to Jess Fishlock, about to become the first Welsh footballer of either sex to win a hundred caps, and notes that she had always expected Michelle Green of Cardiff City, on 96, to get there first. Fishlock is arguably the best player Wales has produced, she writes, and an example of what dreams, belief and hard work achieve.
