View From The Field: Ward’s Words (Helen Ward column)

She Kicks, issue 39, January 2017 p.28

Helen Ward, now described as an ex-Reading player, writes about leaving the club without having decided where to go next, and looks forward to a Wales training camp in January and the Cyprus Cup. She is intrigued by how clubs will approach the Spring Series: whether to perfect tactics, blood youngsters or throw caution to the wind, and argues that with no relegation it should produce attacking football and attract new fans. For Brighton, Bristol and Yeovil the mini-league is a chance to adapt. She calls Scotland a nation Wales can aspire to emulate, and closes by teasing her former room-mate Kylie Davies, who is expecting her first child, about her lack of fitness training and pace.
