View From The Field: Murray’s Matters (Joelle Murray column)
She Kicks, issue 48, July 2018 p.42
Seven weeks after fracturing an ankle, Joelle Murray reports from the other side of the touchline. The first fortnight was spent house-bound with her foot elevated, her crutches doubling as toys for an eighteen-month-old nephew who occasionally left her stranded on the couch. A third x-ray at four and a half weeks brought discharge without surgery. She watched from the stands as her team won a league game, a semi-final and a 9-0 cup final without her, and cheerfully expects to struggle back into the side. The consolation was Wembley: a first visit, England against Nigeria in front of seventy thousand, and then managing a Scottish team to a 6-0 win on the pitch itself.
