View From The Field: Kerys Kicks (Kerys Harrop column)

Kerys Harrop opens a new season with a 1-0 home win over Birmingham and fans back in the ground, pleased finally to meet Spurs supporters after a first season without them, and pleased that the club has at last won at the men’s stadium. Pre-season was long and enjoyable, the new signings have added off the pitch as well as on it, and Rehanne Skinner has had a full summer to work with rather than arriving mid-season. She congratulates her captain Shelina Zadorsky on Olympic gold with Canada, and admits she begged to hold and wear the medal. She has become an ambassador and mentor for Player4Player, advising professional players on contracts, agents, television exposure and social-media scrutiny – a subject this issue investigates in full.
