View From The Field: Kerys Kicks (Kerys Harrop column)

Kerys Harrop uses her column to announce that she has signed a two-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur, ending twenty years at Birmingham City that began when she was nine years old – over half her life. She is candid that leaving Blues was not an easy decision and that she has made friends there for life, but says a club like Tottenham calling was something she could not ignore, and that a new challenge out of her comfort zone was the way forward. Writing from London after a fortnight at her new club, she looks ahead to a WSL season she expects to be the most exciting yet, with an unprecedented volume of incoming overseas players and talk of NWSL players arriving on short-term loans. She also worries, though, about young English players struggling to break through.
