The tournament reduced to its figures. Thirty-one matches produced 95 goals, at 3.07 per match and one every 29 minutes. It began and ended with record crowds: 68,871 at Old Trafford for England’s 1-0 win over Austria on 6 July and 87,192 at Wembley for the 2-1 win over Germany on 31 July. England scored 22 goals, Germany 14 and France 10; Beth Mead and Alexandra Popp shared the golden boot on six, with Alessia Russo on four. Spain had the highest possession and passing accuracy at 63.8 and 86.8 per cent, England next. Lena Oberdorf made the most tackles and was named Young Player of the Tournament, Mead was Player of the Tournament, and Germany were booked eleven times to England’s six.
