UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 Celebration Photo Opener (untitled)
She Kicks, issue 75, September 2022 pp.1–2
The issue opens without a word. Two full-bleed photographs run before the masthead: England gathered on the podium beneath the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 arch as the ticker-tape falls, and a second pitch-side celebration as the final whistle sinks in. Neither page carries a headline, a caption or a credit, and neither names anybody; the pictures are left to do the talking. The pairing sets the tone for what She Kicks billed on its cover as a European Champions Special, and it is the first thing a reader of the September/October 2022 issue saw: the tournament’s outcome stated as an image rather than a sentence. A third full-page photograph fills the inside front cover before them.
