UCFB’s Jess Living the Dream Playing for Her Beloved Leeds (Jess Holland)

Jess Holland supported Leeds as a child and now plays for them, having joined from Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town in the summer that Leeds Ladies became Leeds United Ladies. Wearing the white shirt and the badge, she says, is a dream come true, and settling in took no time. Most of the side’s home games are at Wheatley Park Stadium in Garforth, with a handful at Elland Road itself. Alongside the football she is reading for a physical education degree at UCFB’s Etihad Campus, and describes a division of labour that keeps both going: studies done during the day so that nothing is left hanging over her at training. Her longer ambition is a master’s in America and a professional career there.
