Run-of-page feature
They Kicked — Lincoln Ladies
She Kicks, issue SK18, December 2013 p.42
A departure from the usual fan feature, in which former Lincoln Ladies midfielder and club captain Megs Harris pays tribute to a club leaving the city after eighteen years of her involvement, from the first training session complete with dodgy nineties curtains. She credits Stuart Donnelly with starting it, her father Glen Harris with overseeing progression into the national league, Rod Wilson with making the FAWSL a reality, and figures including Ray Trew whose backing got them there. She praises local media coverage among the best in the country, a double-page spread in the Echo each week and live BBC Radio Lincolnshire commentary, and fans who set a record crowd of over 3,000 for an FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal in 2008. She will miss her number seven shirt.
