They Kick: Sol, Manchester City WFC Supporters Club

The magazine’s recurring supporter slot meets Sol of the Manchester City WFC Supporters Club, who attended every home game bar one and as many away fixtures as possible, rating Arsenal away the best trip. She praises a squad mixing established internationals with less familiar names, all playing with passion and respect for each other and the fans, and always making time for supporters after matches. The group is identifiable in the crowd by a large banner. Sol plays herself, for Manchester Stingers, and admits that when not training she is usually asleep. She would happily kick Liverpool for winning City’s first ever league match, and names Jill Scott her player of the season by a country mile, alongside Krystle Johnston and Continental Cup final scorer Izzy Christiansen.
