They Kick: Notts County Ladies Supporters Club – Julie Roberts

The They Kick slot, which meets the game’s uber fans, features Julie Roberts of the Notts County Ladies Supporters Club. Roberts nominates Desiree Scott as the player who kicks, praising her passion, commitment and quality along with her loyalty to fans and time for everyone, and cheerfully invokes her nickname, the Destroyer. Totally committed to home and away games, she says she can be spotted with the noisy group in shirt and scarf, singing loudly, and is usually found at the supporters’ promotional table before matches and in the club’s suite afterwards getting merchandise signed. Asked who she would like to kick, she picks Karen Carney, in the direction of the boardroom to sign for County. Her moment of the season is the FA Cup semi-final win over Everton that made County the first women’s club to reach a Wembley final, and she names Carly Telford for her She Kicks award.
