They Kick (Fan Q&A: Rangers)

A supporter-group Q&A with Laura Lamont, founder of RFC Women Supporters Group, introduced by a note on the SWPL’s habit of taking title races to the final day. Lamont explains that she started the group in 2019/20, just after the Rangers women’s team turned professional, growing it from a small home-and-away following into a Facebook community of almost 4,000, with a weekly podcast alongside it. She discusses supporters’ buses, the closeness between players and fans she considers unique to the women’s game, her Kirsty Howat chant, memorable trips to Aberdeen and the 2024 Sky Sports Cup final win over Partick Thistle, rivalries with Celtic and Glasgow City, and picks out Kim Shin-ji, May Cruft and Katie Wilkinson. She would rather Rangers did not move to the WSL.
