The She Kicks Locker Room: Kit Check with Mary Earps (Manchester United)
She Kicks, issue 66, April 2021 p.64
The Manchester United and England goalkeeper opens her kit bag. Her first proper gloves were red and white Uhlsports with fingersaves, worn when she was at the Notts County Centre of Excellence and starting to take the game seriously; she still prefers fingersave gloves, which she says is unusual among goalkeepers, and her most memorable pair were red and orange Umbros that reminded her of fire. She owns somewhere near fifty pairs of trainers and calls it an unhealthy obsession. Old gloves and boots go to young players or the academy rather than to waste, and club shirts are auctioned for charity, though her England shirts and a boxed set swapped with the Wolfsburg players stay. Essential kit means two of everything, plus Deep Heat, sock tape and a hand towel.
