The She Kicks Locker Room: Kit Check with Emily Westwood

She Kicks, issue 32, January 2016 pp.63–64

Birmingham City defender and midfielder Emily Westwood, a World Cup and Euros international and Everton cup finalist, answers the recurring kit questionnaire. Her first boots were second-hand Adidas, black with pink stripes; she now wears blacked-out Nike Hypervenoms, and rates the original Adidas Accelerator a beautiful looking boot. She owns just one pair of boots and ten pairs of trainers, and says nobody has dirty boots any more given modern pitches. She would kiss Paul Gascoigne’s boot after that goal against Scotland at Euro 96. Her favourite shirt is from the Euro 2009 final against Germany, kept with her medal, and her first was a Wolves white away top she trained in constantly for a boys’ team called Priory Pumas.
