The She Kicks Locker Room: Game Ready with Chelsea Cornet (Rangers)
She Kicks, issue 66, April 2021 pp.60–61
The Rangers midfielder from Loanhead, who came through at Hibernian before moving across to Glasgow in January 2020, walks through a matchday. Food preparation starts the night before with a higher-carbohydrate meal; the morning brings coffee and scrambled egg and spinach on half a toasted bagel, the other half with peanut butter, jam and banana, eaten two to two and a half hours before arrival. Her bag is packed the night before, because failing to prepare is preparing to fail. Music does the rest, from a personal game-day playlist and a team one built before COVID. She gets very nervous, and uses visualisation to turn it into fire in her belly. Afterwards: compression leggings for the journey home, a protein shake, and a bath full of Epsom salts.
