The She Kicks Locker Room: Car Quiz with Laura Coombs (Manchester City)

Manchester City’s midfielder answers the magazine’s regular questions about her car, and gives away that she coaches as well as plays: the five things always in it are footballs, cones, boots and their smell, air freshener to deal with the smell, and the little black 4G crumbs that come home from every artificial pitch. The car is a Hyundai called Big Ma. Asked what player it would be, she picks Jill Scott – safe, reliable and sporty looking. She would like the plate C00M5Z and is not sure why she has not arranged it already. She spends only four or five hours a week driving, passing the time with Spotify and Smooth FM, and her ideal road-trip passenger is Caroline Weir, whose dry sense of humour always makes her laugh.
