The She Kicks Locker Room: Car Quiz with Anita Asante (Aston Villa)

Aston Villa’s veteran defender, 71 England caps and a season of punditry behind her, answers the magazine’s motoring questionnaire. Her father was the taxi driver of her childhood, her mother refusing to drive beyond a ten-mile radius. She now has a VW Tiguan named Fabs, after Fabinho, because he is a smooth operator for Liverpool and she is a Liverpool fan, and she would like it judged accordingly: versatile, slick going forward, and reliable in a tackle. Her dream number plate is AA19POT, which she says is a long story about piggies on tour. A football, running shoes, an Aston Villa mask, chewing gum and a spare pair of boots are always in the car. Her ideal passenger is the comedian Wanda Sykes.
