The She Kicks Locker Room: Captain’s Chat with Hayley Ladd

Bristol City and Wales midfielder Hayley Ladd, in her first season wearing the armband, describes herself as not a loud character but one who tries to lead by example through application, work ethic, performance and ambition, and stresses that she is still learning. Relatively young herself, she aims to take what she admires in the leadership around her and use it to complement her own character. Her proudest moment so far is a one-nil win over Durham in which the side performed excellently in the first half and then showed resilience to hold the lead and stay in the title race. Confidence and mental toughness are the qualities she values most, and she keeps team talks positive.
