The Loan Ranger (Olivia McLoughlin)

An interview with Olivia McLoughlin, the Aston Villa teenager whose loan move to Rangers in January delivered her first taste of silverware in the Sky Sports Cup final win over Partick Thistle. The England youth international discusses settling into life away from home in Glasgow for the first time, the standards set by her former Birmingham City coach-turned-Rangers boss Jo Potter, and the surge of attention that comes with representing a club of Rangers’ size. She reflects on developing under Aston Villa midfielders Kenza Dali and Lucy Staniforth, her friendships with England teammates Lucy Parry and Elysia Boddy, and the foundations laid during her time in the Birmingham City academy before injury-enforced squad changes shaped her path into senior football.
