The Cool Chids

The Group B cover interview with the Australia attacking midfielder, who won the 2023 Julie Dolan Medal as the A-League Women’s best player during a loan spell at Melbourne Victory. Chidiac talks about the frustration of limited minutes back at Racing Louisville, the years of being overlooked since her senior debut at 16, and the release of finally scoring against Jamaica. She explains that moving to the United States was a deliberate step outside her comfort zone to suit Tony Gustavsson’s system, describes her jet-lag routine and her habit of telling strangers on planes that she is a lawyer, and reveals she was recovering from wisdom-tooth surgery when the penguin mascot was announced. She also discusses speaking out on campaigns.
