Barcelona and Spain’s Aitana Bonmatí collected the Best FIFA Women’s Player award for a second consecutive year at the December ceremony in Doha, edging out Zambia’s Barbra Banda and her own Barca teammate Caroline Graham Hansen. Emma Hayes, who guided the United States to Olympic gold in her first year in charge, was named Best Women’s Coach, while Brazilian icon Marta received the inaugural FIFA Marta Award for the best goal in the women’s game, scored in the 119th and final international appearance of her career. Barcelona’s quadruple-winning squad dominated the Women’s 11, supplying six of the eleven picks, including Lindsey Horan, Patricia Guijarro and Salma Paralluelo, alongside Chelsea’s Lucy Bronze and USA duo Alyssa Naeher and Naomi Girma.
