SWPL: Kirsty McLaughlin interview (Spartans, ACL recovery)
She Kicks, issue SK22, July 2014 p.37
Richard Payne interviews Spartans midfielder Kirsty McLaughlin about her recovery from a cruciate ligament injury sustained in training the previous September simply by changing direction. McLaughlin describes the rehabilitation as really tough but says support inside and outside the club, with physiotherapy through both club and hospital, has kept her working towards her target of playing again, and that she is now back in full training and looking forward to the second half of the season. She calls watching from the sidelines incredibly frustrating and at times helpless. Praising Debbi McCulloch and the coaching staff for managing a long injury list, she looks forward to linking up again with Kerry Montgomery, a friend since their Boroughmuir days, and tips young goalkeeper Eartha Cummings as one to watch.
