SWPL Fast Fives: Nicola Jameison

Dundee United defender Nicola Jameison fields the SWPL Fast Fives after moving north from Spartans over the summer to help United establish themselves in their second top-flight season since promotion. The 22-year-old centre-back, who wears the number five in tribute to a role she has played throughout her career, discusses her aggressive, versatile style and her ambition to develop into a squad leader who shares knowledge with younger teammates. She nominates Tash Bruce as the group’s steadying figure and Katie Frew as its dark horse, while confessing she cannot call the team’s fastest player without a race to settle it. Off the pitch, Jameison reflects on growing up watching Hibernian games with her dad and completing a physical activity and health degree largely through the disruption of COVID-19.
