SWPL 2015 Launch
She Kicks, issue 27, April 2015 p.36
Captains and players from all twelve Scottish Women’s Premier League clubs met at Hampden ahead of a season that kicked off on 15 March. Hibernian captain Joelle Murray, present at the launch, says she is very excited and that the league is constantly getting stronger, a credit to clubs, coaching staff, players, the SWPL staff behind the scenes and everyone involved in running it. There is added incentive to finish well because 2016 will bring a restructure: an eight-team SWPL 1 and an eight-team SWPL 2 running alongside an Under-20 development league in which four overage players will be permitted on the pitch at any one time. The launch frames a campaign in which league position will determine which of the two new divisions each club enters.
