Super-Scarr Scorer (Emily Scarr interview)
She Kicks, issue 48, July 2018 p.43
Emily Scarr scored twenty in twenty-one league games as Middlesbrough finished third in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division, added three in the cup, and was named a Player of the Round in the FA Cup – and she is not, she points out, an out-and-out striker. She plays left midfield or as a false striker, having started as a centre back, and drives down the wing to cut onto her stronger right foot. She began at six because her older brother played, was told she was good for a girl in the boys’ team, and moved on when she found she could dribble and score too easily. She was the only player from her division at an England youth camp in Finland.
