Summer’s Top Transfers (So Far)…
She Kicks, issue 74, July 2022 p.8
A compact listing of the eight most significant completed moves of the 2022 summer window, each with both clubs named, printed just as the transfer market was reshaping the WSL. Lucy Bronze leaves Manchester City for Barcelona, and City rebuild around her departure with three signings from Spain – Laia Aleixandri and Leila Ouahabi from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona respectively, plus Deyna Castellanos. Chelsea strengthen from France, taking the Canadian defender Kadeisha Buchanan from Lyon and Eve Perisset from Bordeaux. Maeva Clemaron leaves Tottenham for Servette, and Drew Spence crosses London in the opposite direction, from Chelsea to Tottenham. It is a small item that dates precisely a window whose consequences run through the following two seasons of English football.
