Spirited Corinthians (Emily Read interview)

London Corinthians veteran Emily Read describes a regional-league side beating two FAWPL teams in November. Having been knocked out by Lowestoft in the last few minutes the previous season, the squad travelled with revenge on their minds and a three-hour drive adding fuel to the fire; the result was 8-0. When the first goal went in early they did not celebrate much, knowing what can happen, and were shocked to reach half-time five up. Read has played for twenty years since her father took her to her brother’s training sessions, is one of the club’s longest-serving players and has played with some team-mates for over fifteen years. A crowdfunding page has helped with equipment, travel and new 3G ground fees.
