Interview
Sofia Jakobsson
She Kicks, issue SK14, June 2013 p.21
Catherine Etoe meets the Swedish striker who took sixteen minutes to score on her FA WSL debut for Chelsea and followed it with a brace. Sofia Jakobsson, 23, says she feels at home and thinks Chelsea the right club for her; though her contract is short, the club’s vision makes her think she could stay a long time. She had offers from Sweden, France and Germany, but speaking to Emma Hayes settled it: she calls Hayes intelligent and energetic, a coach who can make her better. She also rates new Sweden coach Pia Sundhage among the best she has had. She describes herself as fast, a scorer who works hard, finds the FAWSL more physical than Sweden or Russia, and is still puzzling over the English use of pardon.
