SK Goal Getter: Bianca Owens (Middlesbrough, 8-goal FA Cup haul)

The SK Goal Getter slot talks to Middlesbrough’s Bianca Owens, known to team-mates as B, after the 18-year-old striker from Stockton-on-Tees netted eight goals in an 11-0 Women’s FA Cup win against Lowick United. Owens, who joined Boro in December 2014 from Sunderland Ladies having also played for Norton and Stockton Ancients, reports the team top of the league and chasing promotion. She disclaims any secret beyond hard work and being in the right place, insisting she owes her goals to team-mates who create them all, and singles out one finish struck first time with the inside of the foot and curled around a motionless keeper. She has 18 goals in 10 games, sets no personal targets and prefers winning, names her right foot as her weapon and describes herself as mainly a poacher. Her idol is Kelly Smith and her biggest supporter Harriet Dryden.
