Interview
Shine On (Clare Shine interview)
She Kicks, issue 58, January 2020 pp.52–53
Clare Shine headed Glasgow City’s equaliser and then produced the mazy run and top-corner finish that took the Scottish Women’s Cup back from Hibernian, capping a season in which City won a thirteenth league title and reached the Champions League quarter-finals. She has no idea how many goals she scored and says this year was simply about enjoying football again, after a couple of hard years off the pitch and more than a year without playing. Scott Booth’s call to ask whether she was interested was, she says, a no-brainer, and she is grateful he made it. The interview also covers her other sport: she has reached an All-Ireland senior camogie final with Cork, and argues that turning a marker in camogie is what sharpened her finishing.
