#SheKicksLittleKicks Star Six: Rossy Rules (Jane Ross)
She Kicks, issue 53, April 2019 pp.62–63
Thirteen-year-old Grace Lawther of Boroughmuir Thistle sets six questions to Jane Ross, whom she admires for scoring important goals that helped Scotland qualify for the World Cup and for being friendly with fans. Ross, on 125 caps and 58 goals, explains that Scotland now know what a major tournament involves after the Euros, though a new coach and different personnel mean the preparation differs. Balancing study and football took organisation and equal effort in both, and going professional was no decision at all: it had always been the dream. She enjoyed the culture and the challenge of the Swedish league at Vittsjo, treats Scottish team-mates as opponents for ninety minutes when West Ham meet them, and would tell her thirteen-year-old self to work hard, listen and enjoy it.
