SheBelieves Cup 2018
She Kicks, issue 46, March 2018 p.12
A seven-page tournament report on the 2018 SheBelieves Cup, Phil Neville’s first games in charge of England. Speaking after his first training sessions, Neville says he dreams about winning the World Cup and that being on the grass with the players felt right. England beat France 4-1 in Columbus through Toni Duggan, Jill Scott, Jodie Taylor and Fran Kirby, then drew 2-2 with Germany in New Jersey where Ellen White scored twice, Siobhan Chamberlain won a 50th cap and Abbie McManus made a first start. Needing only a draw in the de facto final, England lost 1-0 to the USA in Orlando to a Karen Bardsley own goal after Millie Bright’s sliced clearance, finishing runners-up, still their best placing. Stand-in skipper Lucy Bronze, Bardsley, Jill Ellis and Neville all give extended reaction.
