She Kicks Goal Getter: Izzy Is Busy (Izzy Roper)

Seven-year-old Izzy Roper, originally from Pontefract and now living in Halesowen, plays for Rowley Wildcats girls in the Central Warwickshire league on Saturdays and Tividale boys in the Stourbridge league on Sundays, and attends West Bromwich Albion’s Regional Talent Centre though she is too young to play officially. She has scored forty-nine goals for Rowley since September despite a month with her arm in a cast, plus six for Tividale and nine the previous year for another boys’ side. She names Birmingham City’s Kerys Harrop as her idol, celebrates by waving her arms like a worm, and says she likes surprising boys who think girls cannot play football.
