She Kicks Back: Lianne Sanderson — Lianne’s Loving Her Life in USA

She Kicks, issue SK16, September 2013 p.33

A She Kicks Back questionnaire with the former Arsenal and Chelsea forward named Boston Breakers’ star player in the NWSL. Lianne Sanderson, 25, calls attacking midfield her best position, supports Manchester United, and co-founded the JoLi Academy. Her father played for Crystal Palace and Southend. She names Arsenal’s Champions League final against Umea and a 2-0 win in Portland before 16,000 largely hostile fans as her favourite games, and lists passing, vision, accuracy and consistency as her attributes. Having won everything with Arsenal by eighteen, she still sets goals and would love another Champions League campaign. Her parents, Vic Akers from the age of nine, and Philadelphia coach Paul Riley are named as the biggest influences. She trains daily with Joanna Lohman and recommends team-mate Jazmyne Avant.
