She Kicks Back: Kelly’s Young Heroes (Chloe Kelly)
She Kicks, issue 29, August 2015 p.60
Arsenal’s 17-year-old striker Chloe Kelly, who scored on her first-team debut in a friendly against Aston Villa in February and is now a regular in the WSL squad, describes captaining England at the Under-17 Euros in Iceland. Her favourite game was the qualifying win over the Netherlands, when the squad had to wait a minute for the Republic of Ireland result, a wait that felt like hours, before becoming the first England Under-17 team to qualify for that year’s finals. A QPR supporter with five brothers who play, she credits her parents above all: neither drives, yet they always found a way to get her about. Being captain was new but a great experience, and she names Sandy MacIver as a team-mate to watch.
