She Kicks Back: Fran Kirby — Loyal to The Royals

A She Kicks Back questionnaire with the 20-year-old Reading striker who was the FA Women’s Premier League’s top scorer in 2012-13 and has since been called into an England under-23 camp and the Great Britain squad for the World University Games in Russia. Fran Kirby started out in goal, supports Arsenal, admires Lionel Messi and works as Girls’ Development Officer at Reading while studying Applied Coaching Sports Sciences part-time. Her father also played. She picks a 3-1 win over Millwall two seasons earlier, escaping relegation and finishing third, as her favourite game, names pace and dribbling as her attributes, and credits her mother, who stood out in the rain and cold to support them all. Manager Kelly Chambers says Reading always knew she had international potential and that she is ready.
