She Kicks A Beat With… Christie Murray (Arsenal, Scotland)

Chris Brookes talks to Arsenal and Scotland midfielder Christie Murray for the She Kicks a Beat slot, as the Gunners adapt to life after Shelley Kerr’s departure in June, following a record thirteenth FA Cup win and a first league victory at the fifth attempt away at champions Liverpool. The 24-year-old former Glasgow City and Celtic player, a sports studies graduate from Stirling who spent a year at Carson-Newman College in Tennessee at just 16, says she is delighted to be part of the club’s new era alongside Kelly Smith, Alex Scott, Rachel Yankey and Jordan Nobbs. She names Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Duke Dumont, J. Cole, Kanye West and Adele among her tastes, recalls Lisa Evans getting the Scotland squad singing before the Northern Ireland qualifier, and remembers scoring past Emma Byrne.
